Fruit of the Loom’s key measure of success across their sustainability commitments is, like any business’, the reduction of their carbon footprint. With the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals as their guiding force, and in collaboration with employees, suppliers, customers and consumers, Fruit identified supplying garments to the market in the most CO₂-reduced way to be a priority for the business over the coming years.
What Fruit of the Loom (FOTL) Says:
“We (FOTM/Fruit) set ambitious CO2 and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions targets for ourselves:
🌱Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions to 50% by 2030 from a 2018 base year.
🌱 Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions covering purchased goods and services, and fuel and energy-related activities – 30% by 2030 from a 2018 base year.

Fruit of the Loom states to achieve their objectives, they implemented a number of initiatives across their operation including:

Over 90% of Fruit of the Loom’s European garment collection is 100% made by them in Morocco. Morocco is right on the doorstep of their European customer base, and they ship the majority of their garments from the port of Casablanca. When we at Gilt Edged Promotions order sustainable clothing from Fruit of the Loom, we know that our imprint garments have travelled many thousands of kilometres less than other clothing that has been sourced from further around the world.
Garments ordered from Fruit of the Loom’s Moroccan factory would have travelled up to seven times less the distance versus garments manufactured in China. Their motto is “choose Fruit and choose garments manufactured closer to home – it’s better for everyone.”
Sustainable workwear can be sourced directly from Gilt Edged Promotions which include eco garments like the Fruit of the Loom brand.
