PPE for Dentists – Protection Against Coronavirus

Dental practices in the UK were allowed to reopen on 8th June 2020, following coronavirus lockdown restrictions. It has been reported that many dental surgeries are struggling to get hold of the personal protective equipment that they need in order to work safely and treat patients in the safest way possible.

We have introduced a range of PPE to help businesses get hold of the equipment they need to get back to work and protect both employees and customers. We are adding new items to this range as and when they are available and are working hard to ensure we have items in stock, to allow us to dispatch items immediately from our warehouse in Northampton.

Face masks are arguably the most essential item of PPE for dental staff, due to the close contact between dentist and patient. Social distancing will not be possible during dental treatment, so having the correct PPE is even more essential to stop the spread of coronavirus. Disposable masks are in highest demand as a new mask is needed for each appointment to lessen the risk of cross-contamination.

Hand sanitiser needs to be available at various points inside dental practices, for patients to use on arrival and throughout their visit, and of course for staff to use periodically throughout working hours. Whether you have contactless stations set up and need refills, or individual bottles for staff, there is a range available to suit your workplace. We have worked with a local distillery to produce our own brand of sanitiser gel which contains 80% alcohol, allowing us to bottle it in-house and get orders out to our customers as soon as possible.

Other PPE items that are beneficial to dental practices include disposable gloves – new ones will be needed for each appointment and will help to protect dentists from picking up the virus on their hands, especially when combined with regular hand sanitiser use. Branded hygiene hooks are a great idea if patients need to touch anything within the practice. These items are to be used instead of your finger to push buttons or handles, use PIN pads, or even open doors. They can be given to patients on arrival to keep; when branded with your logo they will advertise your business at the same time as being a vital tool for stopping the spread.

Let us help you and your business stay safe and prevent the spread with promotional hygiene products. View our range for dental practices here and email sales@giltedged.co.uk for more information.
